The sewing machine industry in Taiwan was originated in the era of Japanese Occupation.In the beginning of 1941, there was a first sewing machine factory set up. Chung Yang’s predecessor company, named Sang Yang Iron Factory, was founded by Mr. Lai Man, the first generation. He started the sewing machine parts repair and OEM services in the 1960’s.

In 1971, the company was changed to Chung Yang Industries Co., Ltd., enlarged the business scale, and increase more OEM services. In 2002, the company hired a Japanese expert to design and develop a series of two-stoke engines in private label for Chung Yang to penetrate the professional 1/5 model racing cars toward the private label product direction. In 1995, the family second generation successor took over the management team and completely bought back the company stock shares to independently manage the company. In 2007, the company was certified ISO/IATF16949 and began to enter the Japanese automobile OEM market, and this again upgraded Chung Yang’s competition and professional OEM capability.

In 2005, the 3rd generation successor entered the company and started working an entry-level employee in the factory, and took over the management team in 2019, beginning turning toward the digitalized transformation and manufacture upgrade strategies. In 2020, many corporations in Taiwan were, due to being affected by the factors of trade war, COVID-19, decreased in the business growth. In 2021, to respond the international manufacture trend and competition, the current general manager and the corporate top management aggressively solve the production problems through information streaming to increase the production efficiency and building up intelligent data analysis application mode and to achieve the benefits of quick response and flexible production. Also, the company introduced into AI value-added application and developed smart supply chain and smart production mode, aggressively proceeding corporate transformation and upgrade plan, coordinating with the products in the national development plan to conduct strategical business development, entering the global low orbit satellite industry, to upgrade Taiwan’s space industry competition.
